'46 Chevy 3100 Frame fit a '49 - '52 Body?
I've got a deal on a pretty good '52 body, mostly complete, all of it good except one front fender.
I want to put it on a stock frame and the only one I can source is from a '46 3100. Does this work? I thought I read the frame changed between 46 and 47. |

Actually they changed between '47.1 and '47.2. The earlier ones being the Art Deco trucks and the later ones being the Advanced Design trucks.

Correct. A decent stock frame shouldn't be that hard to find nor that expensive.
If I found a really nice cab I wanted for a decent price I'd latch on to it and work on it while waiting for a frame to become available. You might even hunt for a 48/53 3100 sitting in the weeds with way too many dents and broken windows that has little or no good body parts but has a straight frame for the frame. Also with guys jerking nice frames out and sticking S-10 frames under these trucks quite often there is another avenue but those guys around here seem to think their old frames are worth more than they paid for the S-10.

It seems like around here (Minneapolis) EVERYONE scoops up parts right away for whatever price, but you never see these trucks on the road. |

Get ahold of Root2812 on here. I believe he has some frames and he is out of Coon Rapids.

I also have a 1/2 ton frame for a '48 that will be available. I'm down by Rochester. If the others fall through let me know.
