pull the # 1 plug, and turn the motor over by hand, holding yout thumb over the plug hole. NOTE...do not use small finger, it can get sucked in. You may have to turn it over a couple times, but when the air starts blowing by your finger, then you know it is coming up on TDC. Keep turning it untill the air stops coming out. Then, use a small screwdriver (thin and long) or something, and slip it into the plug hole. You should feel the top of the piston. Turn the engine untill the csrew driver is at it's highest point. That will be TDC. Then look at the damper.
