Re: 1955-59 rear suspension pictures?

it sits low, not as low as some on here. My rear end barely clears the bed wood by about 1-1/2" when bags are deflated.

Re: 1955-59 rear suspension pictures?

The pipe is fine, make sure you box the inside at least 6" in each direction from the notch and make sure you take the arc of your suspension into consideration so you get the notch in the right place. You might reconsider your "bottle" decision for this weld if you only have a 110 machine. The flux core wire makes the welder "bigger" than it is because it runs hotter and there's no difference in weld strength as long as you keep it really clean. I have the option of my bigger Miller for that kind of stuff, but I've successfully welded 1/4" with my Lincoln weldpac 100 using flux core and I keep a roll of it around just for emergencies. JMO.

These are the best ones i could find for the shocks on the 4 bar with air bags.. the shocks are bolted to the bracket on the rear end that holds the 4 bar and uses the bar at the top that also bolts the sway bar on.. hope these help you some.

I might have a couple of the notching plates (U shaped plates I used) pre-bent and laying around in the shop if youd like them. (cant promise them till I find them though) You would just have to cut the side plates to box the frame. Let me know as I wont be using them on my current project.

Re: 1955-59 rear suspension pictures?

This is the NoLimit Fat Bar rear suspension I'm using.

During the installation of the a lot of the brackets the chassis is upside down.

My ride height is 2" higher then the kit is designed for thus the 2" spacer for the track bar.

I found them and put them in my truck. They are yours if you want them (paying it forward). Just PM me where to send them.

I also found some of these axle brackets for bag plates
