Will auto shift linkage from a 93 work in an 83?

Thinking of picking up a 83 roller project. Want to put an auto in it and in looking for column shift linkage I found one from an 93. The 93 is for a 700R4 & I will be going with a turbo 350 that I already have. So far I havent found any from the 83 gen so was considering picking up the 93 linkage.

I know I will probably have to modify it some, but thought I would check on the board to see if anyone knows if I would be wasting my time.

Any info or suggestions r appreciated.
