Very Rich condition

Just started this 5.3 with a new Howell harness and reprogram from them.

Injectors have been sent out a flowed at 79 Ml.and cleaned, along with a new regulator.

Starts and runs but very rich, all sensors O2 and exhaust are in place and new gaskets. Fuel tank and lines are new fuel is fresh.
Cold air filter is in place and the MAF is at 90*.
Pressure is holding at 52# fuel filter is a wix stock.

What to check next?

Do you have any codes? Do you have a way to monitor the information in the PCM? Check your temp sensor, I've seen bad ones read -40*, or an open in that circuit will do the same and make it run rich. Could be the tune also, has it always been this way?

I just got my ELM 327 and Torque Pro to pair, I will look for faults
What should the voltage reading be at the coolant sensor, or how can I test to see if it is working?

Does it just smell rich or are you getting a physical indication?

90* is a tiny bit much for the MAF, 10-2 clocking is ideal.
Vacuum leak, unplugged or bad o2.

How does it feel, where does it idle...have your driven it? Very little info to work with.

It smells very rich
I will re clock the MAF
the O2 are brand new
Sometimes the idle is even, and at times it wants to stall
The vacuum is 15 to 17* at the port on the intake
No I have not driven it yet I am still finishing the suspension while the dog house is off

You really need to scan it. One thing to look for is to make sure you O2 sensors are cycling from basically zero to 800 or so. It will be a nice sine looking wave. I assume when you had the tune and they had all the information I am not sure what the 79 Ml equates to it seems most of the information is in lb/hr.
Like it was mentioned it is hard to tell if it is rich just based on smell, when you first start these they will be rich like a choke at idle. Also check all you fuses and grounds.
Is this stock or have you added a larger cam, those will mess with your idle fuel as well. I wouldnt get too worried until you have scanned it and driven it. That will tell you alot.

If you changed the injectors, your tune MUST be updated with the correct injector data for the specific injectors that you have:

That was my thought. Something in the tune needs to be checked and I would think you would have a code of some sort to go by.

R & R stock injectors and had them cleaned and flow tested.

I did run a scan, but I do not have the codes with me but I think I looked up a few and there were with the Voltage or Alt. I will get more this PM

The engine is all stock 5.3 and the O2 sensors are new and ordered from Howell when I ordered the harness and tune from them.

I sent them the stock computer, gas peddle and TAC they tested and tuned the computer and returned all new items....... plug and play right!!!

Is there a test for the MAF, the AIr cleaner is a new cone looking kit that I received on line, I am going to take the Air cleaner off and start it, see if there is a change.
Maybe get some MAF cleaner and clean the MAF!

Get MAF safe cleaners, spray it down. If you sucked in any oil or **** from the KN filter, you could be throwing your MAF off as a result. Also make sure the wires aren't pinched or coming out of the plug.

And get those codes.

O K, have some CRC Mass Cleaner did not help.
The only code that came up is P0622!

That code pops when the ECM is trying to regulate voltage and gets no result back.
Check for voltage on the dark blue wire, should be over 10v

See if the resistance between terminals is more than 15ohms

Or something in the ECM needs to be changed. Depending on how it was setup, the ecm may be looking to control the voltage, where most of the older truck alternators are internally regulated.

I think Hart Rod had this code and a similar issue on his.

If your alternator is internally regulated, you can set this DTC to inactive.

Had it running yesterday and it is a bit better, it did come up with P0171 and P0174
I did take a look at all vacuum connections and then I re torqued the manifold to pipe flange, have new gasket and donut installed I will try again tomorrow
