I have no heat and it is cold. I first checked the fuse. It was blown. I replaced it. I know have power to the motor but it doesn't turn. So I took it out. It does not spin very freely. It made a lot of noise before it quit so I figure I will get a new one. This is a 1970 non AC cab. I saw a replacement motor at Brothers online, but my old one is in a housing that mounts to the box and is welded in. Do they sell these complete?

That isn't what I pulled out. What do I need to do?

When my heater blower died, I got one from the auto junk yard. Its been working great. Check these guys out.

Welded? The air box that the fan motor is mounted to is plastic. If someone fabbed a new air box I would replace it with a used one and get the right blower motor. The last one I got was $18 new at NAPA Auto Parts.

Got any pic's of the welded box?? If you need a new box I may have one around here somewhere..

I wish I had a digital camera. The part that bolts to the box. The part that you need a gasket for. It isn't welded to the box it is welded to that. It is more than that picture above.

You have the motor and the fan cage. What is that part those 2 are attached to?

this is what you need. and this screws to the plastic box on the firewall.

I don't know what it is for, but it isn't for a 67-72 truck. It looks like it is a "universal" fit for the guy that enjoys making a 15 minute job into an all day affair.

like i said, NAPA Auto Parts has the whole thing for $20 or less.

fans are available too. They cost more than the motor if I remember right. Should be available in plastic and mouse-proof metal. Otherwise someone here probably has a good one to sell. Ask on the parts board.

The local parts had a motor. He couldn't believe he had one in stock. These trucks are rare up here in New England.

I also replaced the thermostat. Looks like it still had the original one in it. It fell apart before I got it out. The heat still isn't all that hot. I guess I will need a new heater core soon. Oh well.

welcome to the board discreet
make sure the cables that open and close the doors arent broken or inoperable that would cause no heat or low heat and is a little easier than a heater core

I pulled on the cable with my pliers and I think I got it all the way. I wasn't in the mood to pull everything apart, but maybe I will next weekend. I have thought about that.

I just don't want to put any money into the truck now. The rear frame, the sub frame, the trailing arms, the bed, and possibly the cab are rusted beyond repair. I just need it occasionally for short drives. I figured I will pull it apart after we get the new house next summer.
