2008 1500 Z71 Stabilitrak, ABS and Service Traction Control Lights On
Last week I had the brakes done on the front and back of my truck. Now, today I was driving and my "Service Stabilitrak" , "Service Traction Control" and ABS lights all came on at the same time. My truck has 96,160 miles on it.
Anyone know why these lights and warnings may have came on? Anyone else have this problem? |

Did you replace them,a shop, or dealership? Most likely, there is air in the system from pressing the calipers in. You will need to have the dealer bleed the system if that is the case. They have to hook a computer up to the stabilatrak/abs system to get all the air out. Though, it could be something else like a bad sensor. If it isn't obvious by looking around for a loose wire or connection around your brakes and such, you may have to take it in just to get it diagnosed by the dealer with the proper diagnostic equipment. Good luck.

Turns out it was a front driver's side wheel baring. Dealership wanted 600+ to do it. I did it my self for 155.00 but just don't have the thing to turn the warning lights off.

I;ve never seen the Stabilitrac, trac control, and ABS lights require a reset. Typically, they will reset themselves when the problem is taken care of.
Now, disclaimer, I've only worked on 2 '07+ trucks, but when I replaced the wheel bearings on an '07 Tahoe and left one of the ABS sensors unplugged, once I corrected that, all the lights straightened themselves out.

My '09 has the same problems and I didn't do a damn thing to it. Common causes are Steering wheel position sensor and yaw sensor. Stabilitrak is tied into the ABS and powertrain, knocking down the power. I am currently looking for a way to eliminate it. '07-08 non Stabilitrak ABS computer, for one. Short term, only way is to hit the dealer and see what the abs computer says. This is just what I've found out.

My lights are still on and it's been a couple of weeks. It's not locking up the brakes anymore though and feels fixed bit all lights are still on.
