Disc brake swap purchase question - this a good deal?
Hey all,
Looking to swap my 66 C20 over to disc brakes. A local guy has a full front from a 77', but it originally came with the 1" rotors. However, he has some new Beltec 3" drop spindles with thicker rotors and calipers. Also has the steering rack. He offered to deliver it all for $600. On beltech's site the spindles new are $398, and don't include the rotor, caliper, etc. I know nothing of Beltech and their quality, so was hoping you guys had information. Based on prices new, and assuming it's good quality, I'd consider it a decent deal, and would probably see if he'd toss the Master cylinder and booster into it as well. Just looking for a sanity check from you guys . Thanks! |

Re: Disc brake swap purchase question - this a good deal?
I used to sell '73+ front frame sections cut at the firewall complete with front suspensions, steering box, linkage, etc. for $150.00. Belltech has been around for a long time and to my knowledge makes good products, but I think $600.00 is a bit steep. But I suppose if he has to load it up and deliver it, he has to charge something for that. How far is he driving?

The drive isn't too far. Half hour or so. The aftermarket parts are new, not used. Sounds like 400-500 would be a better bargain. Will aim lower and see what lands.
