If you've still got the stock column and steering box, you will have to cut the shaft off and weld the new end on, because the rag joint flange is made onto the steering column shaft.
The shaft is 3/4" so you'll need one end of the u-joint 3/4" smooth(weld on type)
The other end will be either:
IF you do still have the stock steering box the splined end will need to be 3/4" X 36 spline.
OR
IF you have a '67-78 Power steering box the splines are 13/16" X 36 spline Not sure what the 1979 and newer is, as I never use those steering boxes.

Put the u-joint on the steering box splines hold the shaft up to measure and cut it off so it will be 1" into the smooth bore of the u-joint. Then weld the u-joint to the shaft.
Takes about an hour or less to do.
The 1979 and newer go back to the 3/4" x 36 spline I believe.
