Re: Custom Mirrors?
Peep mirrors on the door frame would look cool.

Re: Custom Mirrors?
I have a set of beveled glass peep mirrors I decided not to use, you're welcome to them for the $10 I paid for them plus shipping from RI.

Re: Custom Mirrors?
I went outside the family and used Ford Ranger mirrors from the late 80's early 90's, painted satin black (you might like red). They're just about the right size and proportions on my `63 and way more useful than the peep mirrors it came with. The only issue is that, because they had to be mounted far enough back on the door so the vent window frame didn't block the view, it means turning my head quite a bit. I might have a pic to post on my computer at home.

Re: Custom Mirrors?
Mackie I'd be interested in seeing some pics if you have any. As far as the red goes I just got the truck a few weeks ago... been busy getting it roadworthy not sure how I feel about the red accents right now.

Re: Custom Mirrors?
This pic is the only one I have right now...not the best. I'll see if I can get another 1 or 2. I think the Ranger mirrors of that vintage also came in stainless.

Re: Custom Mirrors?
Ranger mirrors look good! Did you have to modify them any to get them to mount up? Thanks for the pics.

Re: Custom Mirrors?
No Pappy,
Scored off eBay for cheap, quick clean up, satin black spray and a handful of SS screws from the hardware store. Actually I might have bent the mounting feet a bit to match the door after I marked the places I wanted them. Oh, and cut some inner tube gaskets. I think I drilled the holes for the sheetmetal screws a good bit undersized then flared the hole inward \ / with a punch to make more for the screw to bite. Nutserts would be better. Life on a dirt road and it looks like the satin black needs re-done |

Re: Custom Mirrors?
Thanks for the feedback and pics! Think I'm gonna try the peeps improbcat has if the aren't functional enough I may do a trip to the salvage yard in the ranger section. Let you know how it plays out.
