Rough estimate of how much it will cost to repaint my truck?
So after I graduate high school my dad said that he would get all the body work and get my truck re-painted at a shop. It's a short bed 1987 4x4 with red and black factory two tone, and I want to get it re painted the exact same colors. My question is how much will a shop charge to replace cab corners, rockers, put all new weather stripping and factory trim on, and paint the frame and the undersides of the cab and bed, and paint the truck red and black again? Just trying to get a realistic number in my head to get an idea of how much it'll cost me. Any help would be appreciated.

Anywhere from 5 to $10,000 depending on where you are and how bad it is .

Everything you listed there you'll be north of 8.

$3200 for the local shop to shoot my '87 SWB in the original Code 72 Apple Red, in Base coat/clear coat, with me doing all the prep (stripped all the exterior trim and emblems, replaced both cab corners and behind the left rear wheel, fixed numerous dents and dings).

I'd say 10+ with the list you've got going there depending on the shop.
Plus depending on who's doing the disassembly since you want frame and under side painted as well. |

Re: Rough estimate of how much it will cost to repaint my truck?
I've gotten quotes in those ranges just for full strip and paint with minor body work on my 83. Two tone paint adds to the complexity as well as the major body work.
Frame cleaning and painting does not take a skilled body man though. Its a dirty job that anyone can tackle unless you are thinking show quality. Save some cash here and do it yourself. You can also do the stripping of the trim, moldings, grill, lights and stuff yourself. The more you do in your driveway, the cheaper the body work and paint will be.

Re: Rough estimate of how much it will cost to repaint my truck?
Painted my 83 last year, 6 G's for the job, I stripped down the body of everything, went with a solid color, had the roll pan welded in, stake pockets filled, drip rails removed and welded up, new windshield and rubber seal installed as well as the rear window seal replaced

Wow, that is a long laundry list of things to be done. if you wanted a basic paint job, with some body work, could take it to MAACO. but, you will need to find a local shop that works on old trucks/cars and cost will depend on their shop rate, parts needed, etc = expensive.
