How to remove bed ends?
Hi guys, I'd like to remove the ends off my bed to see if they can be saved or just replace them. All I can see that bolts through is the chain for the tail gate and bolt the tail gate hinges on itself.
Any help, info or pics would be awesome. Thanks! |

Re: How to remove bed ends?
The fleets bed "ends" are not removable. You can get replacement panels for them but....You need to kind of piece it together, hopefully your a good welder.
I have a pickup bed trailer that had the lower part of the bed "end" rusted almost completely gone. I patched it at an angle right below the tail light socket. Hoep this helps, show some pix of your challenge also, may help

Re: How to remove bed ends?
i just removed mine without cutting them into peices the joint where it meets the bedside is spot welded all the way up i used a putty knife to split the spots as for the rear you have to bend the small return where the tailgate joint is and it is also tacked all the way up its a pita but i got mine off all hammerred straight and back on you could never tell good luck

Re: How to remove bed ends?
Natecr, that article is exactly what I've been searching all over for.
Here's a couple pics of what I've got. You can't see the real problem because someone has covered it all up with bondo and its starting to rear its ugly head. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Both sides have bondo from the bottom to about the middle of the tail lights. I hate bondo abuse

Re: How to remove bed ends?
Here is a link to Eastwood co. it's a abrasive blaster to get rid of the bondo but if you are replacing the whole end you may not need it. But here is the link anyway...Vernski
