LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

I just took my 68 short stepper to the drag strip Friday and was kind of disappointed. Curious what everyone else has ran. If you would, post your engine, trans, mods and weight. I'm sure I am not the only one that is curious about the times people are running.

I'll start.

Re: LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

11.95 @ 115 in my 69 C-10 LWB.

stock everything 5.3, lifting the heads
4L80E with a 3400 stall yank
turbo off of a 3406 Cat on-highway truck engine
3.73 gear with 26" MTs
air ride suspension
3950 without me in it

It would 60' like a slug, then come alive with a vengance.

Hoping to get the blazer to the track this fall some time....but I DO know how it runs from a roll against a 2900 lb turbo LS1 RX7

Re: LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

I have followed your blazer build, I love it. I plan on going 4l80e and turbo, hopefully next summer. I wanted a 4l80e when I put this truck together but the engine came with the 4l60e, couldn't complain.

Re: LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

my last runs were with my 5.3 and a GT2-5 cam and ls6 springs. The rest is stock. I ran a 75 shot of nitrous wet with a wide open switch. Stock 4l60e with vette servo and trailblazer converter.
This combo ran a 13.2 at 102 MPH. I don't have my slips here but my 60 foot times leave alot to be desired.
I am also heavy since I have a rear cover.
I have not ran since my turbo and changing to a T56. It is much stronger but I know my shifting will hurt.
Oh and I can run my AC to and from the track...

Re: LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

Last time at the track I went 12.9 at 102 mph. Mods are:

All aluminum 5.7
241 heads with a tiny amount of bowl cleanup done
Tiny comp cam does not even chop
Stock 2010 camaro exhaust manifolds
Stock truck intake
Stock truck dbw throttle body early style
3.5 inch intake tube
Ls6 maf
3" exhaust from manifolds back
4l60 with a "stalled" stock converter foot brakes to 2200
3.73 gears with 275/65-15 radials

1.97 60 ft
8.3x at 84 I think mph
12.9 at 102 mph

Last time on the dyno it made 372 hp 364 tq at the tires. Not too shabby and I still average 19-20 mph mixed driving. Pretty proud of myself as I have built and tuned this all myself..

Re: LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

That's moving along for your mods. What are the specs on that "tiny" cam if you don't mind? That's a really good dyno number for a small cam.

Yeah it's a comp cam grind number 54-456-11 specs are .607/.614 219/227 112. It's a nice torq cam but I plan to swap to a slightly larger cam soon. I am also planning a set of headers and edlebrock proflow intake with the hopes of 420+ rwhp. Along with a slightly larger stall I am hopin to break into the 11's na then add a 125-150 shot and nab and mid to low 11 second slip. All while it being my daily driver and knocking down 18-20 mpg.. Hehe

Re: LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

1.97 60' isn't bad, but it's not amazing. For what it is, that truck is moving. I ran a 1.86 60' in my TBSS and only pulled down a 13.2.

Keep at it! A little tweaking and you will get there. The biggest thing that hurts these trucks is aero. It's like pushing a piece of plywood down the track haha

Have no idea...ran 8's in the 1/8th with a carb and an MSD that wasn't curve optimized...should do better now. Target is "fast"....then "faster"!

Re: LS swappers, post your quarter miles times!

I know it's an older thread but I just went to the track yesterday and ran my 56 for the first time since completed. It's a stock 5.3 with stock stall and 3.08 gears. The truck weighed in at 3550 lbs. I'm the right lane number 515.

Installing 3.73 gears today in place of the 3.07 s. Hope to make it to the track later this year.
