I think the turbo 400 was 66 only but the 327 was a mid year 65 option

I think it was LtBurb in another thread that said to leave the factory mats alone in these trucks. If you try to remove it, you'll tear it. By the looks of your truck, I would guess everything under the mat is fine. Don't touch it.
