i just got all new SS parking brake cables and just browsing through LMC I see theres a parking brake cable seal set. I cant tell if its a gasket or what.

Does the brake cable need to be sealed where it goes through the backing plate?

can I RTV it? I assume if its gaskets it goes against the backing plate and then between the 2 metal brackets attached to the cable.

just talked to LMC and they say its a gasket type material.

I think im going to RTV it.
