64 GMC inner door handle & winder removal

I've searched and watched some videos and I still can't figure out how to get the door handle and winder off.

I've seen a hook put down behind to pull a clip off but can't feel anything like that on mine.

I went to Harbor Freight to look at tools.
Can anyone see which tool I need?

Can't speak for the GMC's, but the '64-'66 Chevys have a flat screw that you unscrew and the handle slides off the gear on the regulator... same for the door handle/latch.

edit : you need a long, narrow flat blade screw driver to slide into the hole to get to the screw.

Then the door panel unscrews and you can get in there to take the rest of... whatever loose.

this is what a chevy door looks like with the panel off.

show us a photo of your door... maybe one of the GMC guys can get you going in the right direction.

I'm glad this came up as a topic. I would have been looking (cussing) for the clip like my 70 & 83 used.

a lot of the blogs/photo albums in the 60-66 faq have photos or little articles about all sorts of areas of our trucks... a good place to explore!

I know everyone hates when noobs ask questions without searching first but I did and couldn't find anything to answer my specific question.
