I use two little screws to pull them. Take an awl or tiny pin punch and poke two holes in the old seal opposite of each other. Make sure you poke the seal only and not get too close and gouge the shaft. Then screw two little screws into the holes you made and pull upwards with dikes.

Here is a TH350 I did awhile back on my stepside.



Tap the new seal in with a deep socket, a piece of conduit, or about anything that allows you to tap it in place easily.
