find me a good balancer and flexplate.
looking at keeping them under $100 each.
also, how many teeth on the flexplate will i need to get? |

Looks like that should work fine. Get one of the 168 tooth flexplates. SDPC has them for under 100 bucks also.

Just what I have always used. Most 168 tooth have dual bolt patterns for different torque converters. 153 and 168 tooth use different starters so whichever way you go make sure to get the correct starter for it. Usually starters for the 168 are easier to come by. Had a problem at parts store with this once when I went to get one for a 283 with a small flexplate.

i paid around 70-80$ for an SFI approved flexplate at the local speed/machine shop.. its ONE BAD MOTHER and I will never go back to cheapies. GET SFI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

168 tooth of course! just about every chevy starter in existance is for 168 tooth flexplate.

so what would be a good one? will it work with the torque converter for a th350C? also, any special starter i'll need to get? |

That is a good one and it should work with your converter. It should take the same starter as your 305 had. I would get a new hi torque one though, since its going on a new engine.

I got a brand new take-off ZZ4 balancer from hirpmauctions at Ebay for $50 a few months ago. He gets them from time to time from the Boss Hoss motorcycle maker. Email him through Ebay, maybe he's got some on the way. Bought a couple of new GM water pumps from him too. Here's an old link:
