Seat Foam Density
Need a Little Help guys. Just finished the resto on my 69C10 and replaced the foam with a set from Class-Tech-Cars from their Ebay listing. Looks like a good company (30,000 plus positive reviews) The foam was also $250 shipped as opposed to the $500 plus from LMC and classic industries.
The foam looked great and had the correct burlap backing and contours. Now it doesn't seem like such a bargain it is so stiff that my head is almost hitting the roof and I look directly into the shaded area of the windshield. I am only 5'9" !! Any of you use this company? or have any experience with one of the other vendors? I would expect it to "break in" somewhat but its not going to drop the two inches I need it to. Any help would be appreciated |

Re: Seat Foam Density
It would be very hard to compare without having them side by side. My new LMC foam was really heavy. You'd think foam would be light, but its more like memory foam for density.
Is this all after installation (as in you've recovered the seats using this foam)? I would imagine worse case it could be trimmed.

Re: Seat Foam Density
Read through how Jim rebuilt his seat in his build thread. He does great write ups and includes the foam density he used. He even shows his expenses! I did my seat the same way. Maybe you can compare the density/firmness numbers.
