Replacing door hinges opinions please

Hello folks I need to replace the hinges on my drivers side door of my 58 step. I got the replacements from classic parts. I've done this on prior trucks but never on a task force truck. Also my experiences in the past with replacing door hinges are not pleasant ones so I figured I'd ask for advice. Can you guys please give some advice, particularly about the order in which the steps should be done? I appreciate it.

If you are just replacing the pin and bushings here is a good link. It is for an AD truck but they are basically the same. Once you have the tools and parts gathered literally takes about 15 minutes or so per hinge.

not sure what your problem was or how to address it.
just bolt the hinges on the cab in the middle of the slot, then slide the door onto them.
i've done it by myself when i was in my 20s by resting the door on my legs, now i use help
you can do it with the weather stripping and latch installed or not.

I bolted the hinges to the cab first but left the bolts loose, then used my engine hoist to lift the door and get the hinge bolts in the door. It's trial and error after that to get the door in place. I removed the latch plate so I could open and close the door and get it adjusted.

Re: Replacing door hinges opinions please

Are you having problems? They are odd fitting doors but there are some tricks. FORGET reproduction hinges, avoid all reproduction parts a all costs. They are "similar" and can be used if nothing else is available. But if you think you are going to solve problems by buying new parts and bolting them on instead of fighting with the old rusty originals you are sadly mistaken. Spending a little time repairing original stuff is MUCH better 99% of the time than ANY reproduction part.
