exhaust manifold

Hi all, was wondering if anyone can help me find a set of rams horn exhaust manifolds with the 2.5" collector. I searched this forum and came up with the dorman set but they are on back order for at least a month and have not been able to find any alternatives. I dont feel like buying a set only to grind part of it off, and at all the sites I go to when I enter my jimmy it says they wont fit. It is a 1972 jimmy 4x4 with the 350, anybody out there that can steer me in the right direction? or maybe some other part #s that may work, I am not familiar enough with these to no which will fit or not fit, thanks in advance!!

Have you looked at speedway motors, they have a smoothie set in stock for 139.00. Also, while your there, check out the sandersons, theyll make you drool for 400-500

Here's what I bought from speedwaymotors.com. $299, stainless steel ramhorns with 2 1/2" collector.


And here's a shot with the pipes, You have to come off them a 45 degrees to clear the crossmember.

I like the looks of those thanks for the pics, I do not see those on Speedway you don't have a part number do you? once I figure out how to put a picture on here I'll post a couple of my 72 Jimmy

Here's the link. My mistake, I paid $399 for them not $299. They have show polished for $499.

yes I did see those, I had those picked out but I was looking for those $299 ones! looks like you're doing yours up right from those pictures. did you do anything to strengthen the frame?

Those manifolds are listed as not fitting the 4x4 model, I don't know why, any good exhaust guy can come off that manifold and get it to the rear. I was very happy with the quality. They also came with a set of copper gaskets and stainless allen head mounting hardware.

Dorman part number 674-502. 2 1/2 inch ramhorn for 1963 Corvette. Can use on both sides so order two, just trim of the accessory mounts if you don't need them. $81 a piece. I run these with no problems on my Blazer. Do not get the part number 674-503 because it has a choke heat tube built into it. It can rust out and cause a big exhaust leak.

Thanks for the part #s. when I ordered the dormans the ones I wanted were on back order so the salesman sold me another set that was supposed to be the same, but turned out the collector was 2" when they arrived. Getting great feed back from everyone here thanks everyone!

Got my 2.5 inch stainless rams horn and looks like I may have fitment issues with the air conditioner compressor/bracket , anyone else have problems with theirs?

I went with the '96-'99 serpentine system on mine, so I can't help you there. Snap a pick of what you've got. I saw a post a while back on another site where the guy duplicated the factory mounting positions for accessories on his. He tig'ed it all together. Looked like it was made that way after they were polished, but the again, he was a professional fabricator/welder.

I had the dormans on my old carb engine, no fitment issues at all. I switched to a 95 engine with serpentine and had to cut that front ear off on the.... drivers side? I'm not running ac, but I had the pump in for a month and don't think I had issues.

Didnt get to work on yet, other fires to put out, but did get the compressor out of the way and can tell that original mounting setup will not work. So plans are to go ahead and and install and see what has to be done then...fabrication!!

Check out Alan Grove. He's got all sorts of brackets to mount the compressors at decent prices...

thanks for the info on Allen Grove, sounds like he might just have what I need,now if I can just find time to work on this thing. If I ever figure out how to post a picture I'll show you all my pretty original Jimmy. have a feeling this isn't right... gotta keep trying till I figure it out!

ok have the stainless true Rams on now and except for the air conditioner compressor not going back on I really like them. They fit much better than the headers that was on it, now I just need to find the right brackets to make compressor mount possible but at least now I can get the exhaust done, get it licensed and on the road so I can enjoy a little bit of the summer...and see what else has to be done. It hasn't seen the road in a long long time, and I can't wait, I'm 52 going on 16 again...well kind of...!
