Wipers not wiping correctly, not what you think...

Just curious, but does this look normal for the wiper to max out at this angle, or should they go a bit farther up when wiping the windsheild.

I have 2 speed electric wipers. I'm not saying that's where it stops when they're turned off, but thats as far as the drivers side one goes.

the passenger side wiper has a bigger wiping range than the drivers side, I took the wipers off and re-set them and got nowhere. the drivers side stops right in my line of sight and wipes like half the amount of the passenger side.

Here's how far my 1959 Apache wiped the window.

Is the knurled "hat" on the transmission shaft tight? If the rivet gets loose the resistance of the wiper will stop the sweep while the inner shaft turns making it do what yours is.

Is it a stock wiper set up? The sweep radius on the windshield is determined by the length of the transmission arm. In the 80's I had for set up a 60 truck motor to work with mine before I found a stock motor and got to do lots of figuring out. Here is a pic of the stock set up so you can see the ratio of the arm length on the motor to the arm on the transmission. I can't get under the dash to measure them, ac and wiring are taking up all the room, maybe someone with is still out can.

at rest the wipers should be on the windshield rubber as shown
i'd pull the motor to see as orrieg suggests, also notice the operator is cable driven in the stock electric wipers for your truck
