Factory GM rear end?

Does this look like the rear end that came with the truck back in 62'? If so, what type is it? Thanks.

Re: Factory GM rear end?

Need some info about Eaton HO32/33. I am buying a 62 Custom cab that has a 283 with a powerglide, factory automatic column, looks like factory power brakes. Does anyone know if the truck is a factory automatic truck, did they come with 3.38 gears? Thanks in advance Runningiron

Practically all from 55-62 were 3.90 ratio. Some were 4.11. There were some 3.38 in 58-59 but ive never been able to find one. There is aftermarket gears available in 3.38.

http://gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-...olet-Truck.pdf

If it actually came with a powerglide that means it had to be 3.90 or 4.11--3.38's were only for manual trans trucks.
