Re: Project Tow Mater

So since having her back at the shop it's just been a lot of little things like trim, rubber seals and glass. Most of the trim is done it's just down to putting the windows back in and rebuilding the vent windows which is the current task at hand.

Re: Project Tow Mater

Got one of them done minus the hinge rivet and latch. Considering just doing a stainless nut and bolt instead. Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be but using tire mounting lubricant was a big help! Got started on the next one and as soon as I went to tap out the roll pin in the vent latch it exploded into pieces... Thank god I have an extra that I can use! Going to get the other side finished tomorrow!

I would of if they weren't sized for 15" wheels. Once I did the 1-ton swap I couldn't fit 15" wheels over the front calipers. The current wheels are 20" and I'm looking at getting a set of 35x12.5-20 MT MTZs here shortly. The bias ply boggers were not too street friendly either haha.

Thanks! The front end swap bolted right in. Just make sure to use a OEM core support as the aftermarket ones are junk, do not fit up at all and a huge waste of time and money. I actually left them just incase I ever wanted to go back to the 81-87 front end but I may patch them when I do the Cummins swap and shave the firewall.

Thanks! And I know I know. I had them laying around and they fitted perfectly after the 1-ton swap. Plan on getting wheels when I buy new tires soon; something with less material on the spokes and more spokes.
