Rehang Electric Fuel Pump, or Replace With Mech Pump?
Looking for a little advice. It's a 69 C10 with an 89 350. Got it with a a Summit electric pump, that is driving me crazy with all the buzzing. Everyone laughs at me when I drive by. It is attached inside the frame rail using the thin little rubber pad to isolate the buzzing. NOT! It has an Edlebrock carb with a separate pressure regulator down to 5.5 PSI.
Trying to decide if I should unattach from the frame rail and try to hang it from a couple rubber straps, like muffler straps to quiet it down, or junk it and get a mechanical pump. I'm assuming this engine came fuel injected, as there is a plate over where the mechanical pump would go. Reading the forums, the 89 engine would accept a mechanical pump....? If so, I believe that I would need a 2 port pump, not a 3 port with a return line to the tank, right? Thanks!

Motor may have the mounting plate for a fuel pump but the cam may not have the eccentric or lobe on the profile to drive the fuel pump push rod. Also you will need the fuel pump push rod.
Why not just get some better isolation rubbers? Grainger sells rubbers that may work better than the rubber sheet. |

Thanks, yes, that is what I am worried about, that the cam may be missing...sounds like the safest and easiest thing to do is rehang the electric pump with better isolators.

Hey, I think Edelbrock makes a quiet electrical fuel pump, I've looked at them before, but dont have the money right now for one. I think 125. or 130. ?? Just a thought.
