Bought those exact plans a while ago, they look pretty good. Still haven't built mine though, didn't get a chance during the christmas break.
It's safe to say you could build your own without plans. This guy had the design all drawn up, so I decided to buy it and save myself the hassle of designing my own. To me it was worth $40. Ron
