It's Been Awhile...
Well im back and im sure some of you remember me, I had the black rusted out 85 K10 Custom Deluxe and the light blue 87 K10 Silverado. Well those trucks are long gone but I have new plans. Needless to say I have a 93 Dodge W250 with 12 Valve Cummins in it sitting. As I am unable to use the truck due to title issues I have conjured up new plans. I want to find a CUCV or a K20 diesel to use as my build platform. The idea is nothing new, put Cummins in the Chevy. I have started looking and found a truck I am interested in but not sure if I'll be able to get it due to how much it may go for. How much do these usually go for?

Re: It's Been Awhile...
Also would it be easier to swap a Cummins into a former diesel, gasser, or does it matter? This question is in regard to the wiring harness.

Re: It's Been Awhile...
Also found this truck which is also a CUCV, guy said he'd let it go for $2900 without the plow setup and toolbox.

Re: It's Been Awhile...
Also are the CUCV frames boxed? And would it be a good idea to box it with a Cummins going in?

Re: It's Been Awhile...
Nope, they use a regular 1-ton GM frame.

Re: It's Been Awhile...
So would it be a good idea to box the frame? Im gonna assume yes because my 99, my dads 97, and my buddies 96 dodge cummins all have boxed frames.

Re: It's Been Awhile...
Also while in the process of boxing the frame I would add more cross members. Even if you bolt them in under or by the engine, and transmission for easy removal.
I have a 406 with a stupid amount of HP I need to put into something, and have been researching chassis builds. So I can build a cheap C20 that can handle the power for a pro touring feel. |

Re: It's Been Awhile...
Good idea, thought about putting it in a swb truck but I figured it couldnt handle the torque. The Cummins will not be stock in the end.
