Will these manifolds work?

Got it set down tonight to see if I need to order a set of f-body manifolds. I got a friend who can ship me some this week for $125. 01-02 egr less ones w/ flanges. Not sure if that's a great deal or not but cheaper than I have seen elsewhere.

DS looks tight, like if I move it at all may hit/rub.

Just seeing how it will look.

So should I jump on the set of fbody manifolds or what? I do see now what people were talking about the truck manifolds pointing in odd directions.

Also not 100% sure I am in the location at which the engine is staying. I can move it around thanks to the dirty dingos but I don't have trans attached so not sure if this is the final resting place or not.

I also picked up a 20 gal carb tank to try and play with. I want to get the 01 fuel pump assy in it, if possible.

I'd love to but they are so expensive! I can't find any that are reasonably priced. The $125 01-02 fbody manifolds were the cheapest of those I can find that come with flanges.

The TB SS manifolds are roughly $50 each brand new from GM parts direct. See link: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/catalog/frameset.cfm

That's where I'm ordering mine from.

Re: Will these manifolds work?

Is there really that much of a difference between the tbss manifolds and the 01-02 fbody ones?
Why are tbss ones better?

Wish it wasn't so expensive for hardware and heat shields!!

Also I already bought gaskets for the 5.3 manifolds, will they fit the tbss/fbody manifolds?

Re: Will these manifolds work?

So I ordered a set of TBSS manifolds from GMpartsdirect last week. Turns out the DS (left) manifold is currently on back order with no ship date in sight. At all. Even called the dealerships and they confirmed they are not being made at the moment and no clue when they will start back up.

Apparently once an order has been made with gmpartsdirect it can only be cancelled if the part is on back order so I was forced to still pay for the right passenger side manifold so it will be coming soon.

Luckily I found a ds one on ebay and got it ordered.

hAHAHA!! Too funny. I didn't even think of that, but it is what I should have done. Their customer service wasn't nice about it. Just kept saying its in the rules, no cancel.... basically hahahaha you didn't read the fine print.

Next time I will let visa do it as well. Thanks for the tip.

Re: Will these manifolds work?

Got the manifolds in. The DS came with heatshield but the PS did not. Anyone have a heat shield for the PS side or where I can get one cheap?
