62' rear coil spring removal help
Just got 4" rear drop coils for my 62' C10 SWB. Will the stock springs come free enough to remove by lifting the rear end of the frame and unbolting? If anyone can share how they did theirs or tips on getting them out it would be appreciated, so I dont kill myself in the process. Thanks!

Re: 62' rear coil spring removal help
hello the rear springs are a lot safer than the fronts.take the spring bolts and retainers loose at the control arms take loose shocks and jack up till all tension is off, then take out upper spring bolts and retainers..reinstall in reverse order good luck!

Re: 62' rear coil spring removal help
I used a 4x4 across rear frame rails. Lots of PB Blaster or creeping lube not WD40. Lower bolts first, jack free, upper bolts. Reverse install.

Can you take a rear before and after measurement at rear frame rail? Mine was 17 and bags set at 11 inches.

Re: 62' rear coil spring removal help
Same thing. Especially if you have swapped rears. Measure holes.

Re: 62' rear coil spring removal help
Here is the issue of axle being pushed up and forward. The blocks will help. The block hole spacing will be the same. Same size axle tubes. Measure, Measure, Measure. New longer U bolts come with the block "kit".

Re: 62' rear coil spring removal help
Oh okay.. so you think the width of the u bolt holes are the same, so it should work? I wonder why they dont put that it will fit a 62' also?

Re: 62' rear coil spring removal help
"It's a conspiracy...man"
I have had this truck since 1998 ando pretty much had to make parts fit. There is little aftermarket support. That's why I chose Porterbuilt parts. Them and No Limit were the only ones with suspension. I might have #2 PB for '62
