10/12 Bolt HELP!!

I have a Dodge truck that has had a 10 bolt front and 12 bolt rear swapped in. I'm sure if that and tht it's 3.07 gears. What I don't know, is what year or model they are from.. I've tried matching and decoding all the numbers I can find, but without luck. All the people who post the numbers are looking for the gear ratios and such. 10 bolt front end has Casting number 458856, casting date L2070, steering knuckle number 620263L. 12 bolt rear end casting number 3896839, casting date M280, assembly code RHS K224, ring gear number 3817779 14-43. No date on the ring gear. And the date on the rear end is "M".. There is no 13 month obviously. And I assume 1981 model diffs, but 81 tie rod ends and stuff don't fit. No decoders online have worked, and none of the numbers match consistent. Desperately need to know what these are out of so I can buy parts and get this back together, any help would be appreciated!

Re: 10/12 Bolt HELP!!

I "think" that trucks got dana 44's in the front 'til 77 and the 12 bolts last year was 82. I'm pretty sure that all internal parts are interchangeable thru the years of both axles. Maybe they reused the dodge steering arm?

Re: 10/12 Bolt HELP!!

I know I saw a lot of the casting numbers match with 78 models, but the late 80 casting date I'm assuming.. But steering knuckle matched 89 suburban. I'm pretty certain it has the chevy steering box. I had a damaged stub shaft yoke, tie rod ends and drag link. Nothing but te bearings worked. I'd seen on another forum that Randy's Ring & Pinion helped them but they said tey couldn't help me narrow anything down. I know it had 28 spline inner axles on the front. It would just help to know what to get parts for ya know haha

Re: 10/12 Bolt HELP!!

I think the front axles were mixed from 77 to 80. We have a 80 that dad bought of the original owner that has a 44 in the front. I think the auto trucks got the 10 bolts and the manual trucks got the 44s.
