Yes.... the smaller (factory) size wheels barely clear the caliper as is w/the DRW front hubs so there would be clearance issues using an OE size DRW front wheel on the SRW front hub. It's twofold: wheel diameter & spacing. Adapters move everthing away from the rotor/caliper so the adapter/semi combo works w/the single wheel hub (w/the exception of the too narrow track width).
