I have only heard good things about them being torque monsters but they never made it to NASCAR LOL. I've heard them run they sound like they are gurgling. My wife heard one and she said it sounded like me in the bathroom....
In the same V-6 family, GMC also built a 401 and a 478. There were a lot of early 60's straight trucks hauling hay with those 401s.
