Posi unit out of a dana 44 worth picking up?

I spend the biggest part of my time in the 73-87 section and am not real familiar with the 60-66 trucks. I am always watching for posi units and found one today under the rear of 65 Chevy with leaf springs. It has 3.54 gears. I would also like to know if it will fit in front Dana 44's. Any help would be appreciated. I have a customer looking for one for the front of his Blazer.

As far as I know it should fit a front Dana 44. I don't remember where the carrier breaks are on the Dana 44. So it may or may not work with his gears.

Re: Posi unit out of a dana 44 worth picking up?

In my 65 K-10 with a mid 70's Danna 44 front I am running a limited slip I originally took out of the rear of a late 90's Wrangler, then I had it in a 99 Ram 1500 until I upgraded it to a locker and lower gears. I am now running thick cut 4.11's on it. The carrier break is 3.73 and under and 3.91 and over. I did and would suggest rebuilding the carrier before you use it.
