Re: Ls swap (swindle)
I've been fortunate to find a service adviser at my local Chevy dealer that's a LS-swap enthusiast and LS expert, but the parts guys there and at the GM dealer down the street have provided information too. If you're in the Phoenix area, Chris at Freeway is very helpful.

Re: Ls swap (swindle)
I had a Wrecking yard try to screw me Yesterday.....
A customer found his own L92/6L80E package from a W/Y in Dallas, I went with him to check it out before it got pulled, The engine was super clean, Had them swap in a battery to check the odometer, Had about 16K on it. Turned the Key & the engine lit right off & no check engine light. Everything was right. Told the Salesmen what we needed with it...ECM, Harness, Pedal, Exhaust lead-off's, MAF, Etc, Etc. My Customer pays for the package in full, Was told it will be delivered in a couple days to my shop. A week goes by, Not a word, Called them up.....We have it out, It will be there tomorrow Blah, Blah.....Another week goes by, I have my customer call them, He told them it better be here Monday or I want a refund. The engine, Or should I say A engine shows up Yesterday....What a Effen MESS!! The Block is oily, The heads & Pan are clean. Has a L99/LS3 intake with only 4 bolts, They broke the intake because it has Truck accessories & the intake doesn't clear the Alt. Bracket. ALL numbers have been ground off....Heads & Block. Had a Brand New 6L80 bolted to it, No torque converter At All!!! The harness/ECM they sent is for a Gen III DBC engine. No oil filter on the engine. The PS pump is for a Non Hydroboost, The truck we looked at had Hydroboost. Tried to turn over the engine, Went a 1/4 turn & locked down. Then it dawns on me, The have square port heads on a aluminum 5.3L. Just to be an A$$, I went ahead & forced it to roll over & bent some Valves or bent pushrods, & Sent it back with their driver I will not post what I said to the Salesman over the phone, I will put this way...I have never talked to someone over to phone that way before.
