How makes the highest quailty Carpet for suburbans
Are some kits better that others? I would like a high quality carpet for the suburban. I don't care about factory look, I am after quality.
I am going to look at local upholstery shops to see about different pile and thickness. Thanks Chris

Re: How makes the highest quailty Carpet for suburbans
I bought ACC upgraded to the heavy jute underlayment 80/20 loop pile. My only issue is the rear area is not wide enough to go under the side panels. 1/2" short per side. Not sure if that is factory or not.
We need so.e picture s of your burb.

Re: How makes the highest quailty Carpet for suburbans
If I remember correctly, I got mine from:
http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCa...31&ModelId=105 I included the MAS backing, and I was extremely happy with the fit. There was some trim work to be done in the cargo area. The only gripe I have, the second row area where the step up is. The carpet doesn't have a hemmed edge, so it is a rough cut and is the only area that bugs me about the whole kit.

Thanks for the pictures. I have a picture loaded in the 4x4 suburban picture thread. I'll see if can load another one.
I found a carpet kit that advertises the "same as Mercedes" so know I need to go to a Mercedes dealership to feel there carpet. lol Chris

Did you ever decide on a carpet kit? I'm ready to get one for my '68, and like you, I want quality over anything.
Got any pics? |

Re: How makes the highest quailty Carpet for suburbans
Did you find your carpet yet? As a upholster for 30 years I have seen some good kits and some really bad ones. Like you said I would go to your local upholstery shop and see what they offer and see what they would charge for a carpet job. That way you would get the carpet that you want and that it doesn't come up short and if you are not satisfied they can fix it. Also I use ACC and they are pretty good. Good luck
