73-87 Engine Mounts/Stands on a 60-62?
Anybody ever modify a set of these 73-87 sbc mounts to work on a 60-62 frame?

The 67-72 work.

The C20 and C30 frame brackets fit the '63-'72 frames quite well. Since the '60-'62 frames are a bit shorter, either a spacer will be needed or cut the top of the bracket off and move it down.

. Thanks. I already have 63-66 v8 mounts with the required spacer. But I read that the 73-87 mounts are better for resisting engine twist. I'm going to a auto transmission, so the added strength of the bellhousing cross member will be removed. Looking at my mounts as the only thing holding my motor in, got me thinking about using the 73-87 mounts.

The 63-72 motor mounts do fine with the manual transmission crossmember as added strength. My concern is how well will they hold up without the manual transmission crossmember.

Re: 73-87 Engine Mounts/Stands on a 60-62?
If you don't have a built engine and don't drive it hard, they should be fine. Granted that is what GM used in all auto trans applications from '63-'72, but those engines likely didn't make more than about 275-300 hp. If you don't want to go to the work of changing to the '73+ engine mounts, you could always add a torque strap. Then if the engine mounts did fail, the engine wouldn't go anywhere.

Re: 73-87 Engine Mounts/Stands on a 60-62?
In the thread I posted, in my pictures, I don't have the spacers. To me the stock perches work fine. I would install a transmission crossmember to support the rear of transmission. I run 450+ torque with a 406cui small block.
