New to us 60 C20 LB Project
New project, I am a AD fan but I Picked this up last friday from a friend of mine who got it from the original owners daughter (she almost donated it to a charity before he saved it) and looks like its 68k on the spedo is correct, has all the factory keys all the locks work.. it hasnt been on the road since 87. I got it for my son who is turing 15 this week, he digs this style and its starting to grow on me too.. he wanted a short bed but this one is way too nice to chop up, so its staying long, it is super clean and only a little rust on the hood in a couple of small spots, it had a camper shell on it for 95% of its life, has the original wood floor and its in great shape with the original looking black paint, it was repainted back in the 70's sometime this copper color, plans are probably going to see if the motor will run as is and lower it down and swap out the 3/4tn axles and front end, and if not it will get an ls swap with a manual trans.

Re: New to us 60 C20 LB Project
Wow! What a find. That has to be the least molested, straightest, unrestored '60 I have ever seen. Most of those trucks have been beat to death. It seems like the early 60-66s tend to be more thrashed than any of the later years.
Give us more details like pics of the interior and engine. The 60-61 guys will freak when they see this one. It might be a good reference for anyone looking to restore a 60-61, as it looks like it hasn't been torn apart.

Now THAT is the sort of truck I would hope to find and buy to bring to England for us.
Well done with the save. Looking forward to seeing it evolve. |

Loving that truck! Super nice and straight. I'm hoping against what I fear is the new wheel choice seen in one of the pics. C20's are honest work trucks and look best as such. Anyway, congrats on a rare find.

Re: New to us 60 C20 LB Project
Thanks guys, it is a great find and it hasn't been molested or hacked on at all, couple small holes in the bed rails from the camper that was on it, and the seat and glove box is a little eaten but other than that it's solid... Ill get some more pics of it with my real camera if I can get home before dark before this weekend, the drivers side and inside is just as nice as the passenger side, the ones i took were from my phone, And no, those wheels are not going on it, the bottom pic was from where I picked it up from..

Awesome truck!
I'm so jealous of the trucks you guys find out there. These trucks here will almost rust out sitting in the dry Posted via Mobile Device

Re: New to us 60 C20 LB Project
figured its been a while since I put any updated pics and progress up on the old beast,
so far I did following swapped out wheels and tires from my duramax,(good excuse to get me some new wheels & tires) , bench seat & seatbelts from a 90's Silverado, new water pump, radiator, & hoses, rebuilt carb, new fuel pump & lines, rebuilt the brake system, new hydraulic clutch slave, relocated the fuel tank to the rear with a 80's blazer tank, and added a fuel door cut from a mid 90's fullsize siverado.. |

All that gold is crazy. It reminds me of the old coffee pots at IHOP.

Re: New to us 60 C20 LB Project
You been busy. Glad your enjoying it. What kind (size) of wheels were on it? I'm gonna guess the old heavy-duty 17" split wheels. Did ya save em?
