AD Hood hinges

On my 49 The forward hood hinges have the springs on the inside, but do it matter which is left or right? Thanks

If my memory servers correct no there is no difference. The bolt holes in the spring should be the same size top and bottom.

Yes they are right and left. As I remember the rivet/pivot on the bracket that bolts to the firewall are on the inside facing the center of the truck. Bolt it on and hold the piece up to the hood and it should fall nice and straight. The spring has to come out towards the rad when it bends remember.

As 918337's photo shows they pretty well will only go on one way. The springs would hit the firewall and keep the hood from closing if you put them on the wrong sides.
