Re: 1964 4x4 Swiss fire truck conversion
Shame. I would definitely be interested. Following some of the recent posts, I decided to go back to original wheels. But hubcaps are tough to get... as you say. I thought the ones at classicparts would be ok. But they are for 1/2 ton only. Do you know the difference?

I think you have come away with a great looking truck. I bet it gets some interesting looks over there where they were rare even way back in the day.

Re: 1964 4x4 Swiss fire truck conversion
Thanks Pimpston65! I really appreiciate the donation! Looks awesome on the truck! Will paint the inner circle in the same colour as the body though, or red. Hope that's ok ;-)
Thanks again - the radio will be on its way in a few days! Skywalker

I'll probably keep em. For the time being. Unless you are interested. But I have only 3...

Re: 1964 4x4 Swiss fire truck conversion
One mean looking truck, nice job!
For the power steering I went with the Unisteer Rack and Pinon, nicely priced and very easy install. The stock wheels would look fantastic in white matching the cab IMO If you are going to "paint" the bed strips black, I would go ahead and powder coat them, much more durable. No clue what fuel prices are in the Alps but that truck rocking a diesel would be amazing. |
