Daily Drivers? Pics?

Apologies if a thread like this has already been posted.

Who is driving there truck as a daily driver? I have an 05 Dodge Magnum RT that I currently use as my daily driver but was thinking about driving my 66 c10 and getting rid of a car payment and extra insurance. The gas mileage won't be much different. It will just be the comfort and speed of the Magnum I will miss.

I always enjoy seeing other peoples trucks so if it is a daily driver for you post it up for all of us to enjoy.

Thanks!

Re: Daily Drivers? Pics?

Driving my 63 daily without power steering/brakes or a drivers side window! Doing a disk brake conversion in the next couple weeks. Putting a new window regulator in tomorrow.

Re: Daily Drivers? Pics?

drive my 63 when not raining too heavy or snowing. 70 miles round trip. I get around 16.5 mpg 230/3spd 3.08 gears. It is why I bought it. For DD use. My old driver was a 1994 Mustang GT 5.0 with 205k miles. Still have it. Now retired to sunny days only. I work in the corporate world and it causes a stir when I park this baby in the garage with the Benzs & Beemers.

That's the way to do it...show them American quality that lasts forever. Not like those plastic "jellybeans" that don't have style. I'd love to drive my primered, rusted Suburban through Beverly Hills, have a valet park it, and say "fin a good spot as all this %^$&% happened the last time I parked it here. lol

Re: Daily Drivers? Pics?

I drive mine every day. Of course, with a reliable 350hp V8, 5-speed tranny, modern brakes, AC, heat and a cruising speed of 75mph at 2,200 RPMs who wouldn't? Especially since I live in Phoenix, AZ where there is no snow and pretty much no rain.

Re: Daily Drivers? Pics?

The PO of my truck used it as a daily as he is a stroke rehab nurse

Before that it had two lives, one was as transport for a vintage bike builder, and one with a Rock a Billy band.

With me it is more toy, but will always stay a working truck.

Talking Re: Daily Drivers? Pics?

I bought this truck initially for parts but when she fired right up and drove down the road, I decided to make her a driver, kept alive by her big brother.
I know it's a rust bucket but I still like driving it around and ironically, it has all the original wood left in the bed. I would fix it up if the cab wasn't toast.
Boy! I do get some looks from people who I guess can't believe she still drives down the road or maybe they can't believe that I am still driving it down the road...

Re: Daily Drivers? Pics?

This is my daily driver I have been driving it for 35 years. In 1995 I installed a 5.7 TBI with 4L60E disc brakes a/c new paint. Gets 19-23 mpg depending how I am driving . Rain snow sand storms Love to drive it. I have logged over 400,000 mi and it is getting tired. I have picked up a 5.3 and will be doing a transplant before to long.

Drive mine most every day for 19 years now! Stock 350 with QJet, heavy duty Muncie 3-speed with Hurst shifter, power steering, power brakes. Love it!

Re: Daily Drivers? Pics?

I’m retired now so mine doesn’t see as many daily miles anymore, but it gets driven all year long rain or shine. The only time I leave it in the garage is when the roads are covered in ice or have inches of snow piled up. The last 9 years I was working the commute was 72 miles round trip daily:

Good weather:

Winter studded tires:
