But I'm thinkin the cases might be the same and ya could actually use the 3 speed case. maybe,
Thanks frank. I've got a 3 speed OD on my bench now. Any tips for marking and drilling the hole in the 4 speed case? Or is it as simple as just bolting them together and slide a tight fitting punch in the hole?

Re: 65 3 on the tree with over drive ?'s

You can set the sun gear control plate, the one inch thick spacer between the main case and rear tail housing, on the case and I just hole punched it. good enough. but the better job you do the easier the rod will slide . Somewhere on the site here is a thread to the Hot Rod Mag. article from way back that walks ya through it. the trick is making the 4 speed reverse shifter push the rod back. first question? are you using a Saginaw 3 sp. like in the pic I posted with the 2 trannys on the table?

All the old relays look like a 3 prong relay.I think the power should go from the batt. or ign. to the relay and thru the relay to the sol. the gov. must finish the circuit by grounding the relay ? is that right. ?
This should help you it shows the original wiring and a newer home made version
