Connecting NSS on harness?

I have an Orange/Black wire on my LS harness that is for the NSS. I'm trying to figure out the best way to connect this up on my truck. It is a 4l60e, the transmission does not have the NSS/reverse switch on the side of the tranny. I do have a auto steering column with a NSS/reverse switch on it.

Can I just connect up the LS harness NSS wire to one of the 2 purple wires that go to the column NSS?

Thanks,

Rich

Re: Connecting NSS on harness?

In case anyone else is trying to figure this out, I spoke with BP Automotive and got this all figured out.

The NSS switch on the console is a positive connection so it will not work for the harness NSS setup as it needs to receive a ground signal. So I bought one of the Lokar BL-1400U Backup Light/Neutral Safety Switch that installs on the tranny, I will then ground one of the terminals on it and the other one will go to the Orange/Black NSS wire on the harness.

Hope this helps someone else.

Re: Connecting NSS on harness?

If you don't want to buy another NSS, or don't have a place for one, you can do what I did on my station wagon. Takes two relays, but works with only the original NSS mounted on the column. Diagram on post #17 http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...-question.html

Re: Connecting NSS on harness?

I figured there was another way to do it. The nice thing about adding the Lokar NSS setup is its only $35 and it is easy to install and find and I can continue using my column shifter one for reverse and the starter NSS functions.
