DRUM brake booster and it's bracket and master cylinder? do the holes all line up on the firewall between the two? and lastly,... is it possible to put pwr.to the drum brakes and still use the non-pwr. brake lines? any info. on this subject is appreciated!

forgot to ask also......is there a diff. between a pwr.disc brake booster and a pwr. drum brake booster? in other words can i use a disc booster for my drums, and make it power drum brakes... can the wheel cylinder handle the added pressure? can't remember if there is a specific difference between the 2 wheel cylinders.

The booster shouldn't matter, it's the master cylinder that is different. You can't use a disc master cylinder on a drum setup and visa versa. The wheel cylinders should be the same. They will handle the power assist no problem.

The main difference is in the proportining valve in the drum or disc application. Pretty much you could get away with either master cylinder on a drum or disc booster.
Use the right proportioning application valve though.

The drum setup doesn't have a prop valve. If you have manual brakes, you can use your valve. It's a combo valve only. Not pressure difference from front to rear. I did it on mine when I just added a booster. I had manual drums, and added a booster. No changes necessary.

So what would happen if you switched from drums to discs without using the proportioning valve but just changing the master cylinder??

the front and bacl brakes could lock up at different times, or the front brakes could lock up right away and th back ones could not even inguage, I would not try it at all, you are just asking for a serious accident
