Z06 Manifolds on truck 5.3, will it work?

Hi all,
I am thinking about buying Z06 manifold to put on my truck 5.3, what are the pro and cons and will they actually work? I used DD slider mounts for engine.

Thanks for any help!

Those will exit directly into the base of the engine perch. To fit one of these swaps, you need it to hug the block and sweep back as fast as possible. The exact clearance will vary slightly with the DD mounts, but the engine perch will still more than likely interfere. Compare that to the general shape of the TBSS, Fbody, or Swap longtubes.

Re: Z06 Manifolds on truck 5.3, will it work?

Hi Br3w,
Thanks for your help. I am planning on redoing my exhaust and I have the stock truck manifolds on there, saw these for only $80 a pair. The drivers truck manifold kicks out at an angle towards my frame making an extreme angle back to meet the rest of the exhaust piping in the normal spot. I see the TBSS right side manifolds are out of stock but I hear the hummer manifold will fit just as good as the TBSS? I guess I can wait and keep looking.

Thanks again for your response.

Those look like they might work well on a 4wd

If you had a crossmember with tubular perches, I think it could be made to work.

Ben- the TBSS manifolds are definately cheaper used if you can find them. I havent' had much access to any Hummer H3-Alphas, which were the only ones that got the 5.3
I've heard that the setup thats running in the new-gen Colorado's might also fit, but parts aren't cheap yet as they haven't ended up in junkyards.

Gen 5 Camaro manifolds fit well and they're pretty easy to find.

They aren't as cheap as the TBSS manifolds used to be, but they fit well and exit straight down with a two bolt flange. I'm using them.

Hi all,
What about 2011 corvette manifolds? I found them for a good price if they will fit. Never mind, I just saw the hole in both manifolds that would need covered.

The holes in those manifolds are actually for the oxygen sensors, and even if you didn't put the oxygen sensors there you can plug the hole with a oxygen sensor plug. The angles on those flanges look like they'd work really well.

Re: Z06 Manifolds on truck 5.3, will it work?

You might have to make a pretty tight bend right off that flange to clear the framerail, but I'd have to see it mocked up to know if it was practical.

Practicality aside, those look like they'd be an interesting base for a turbo manifold. Who wants to cut an adapter for a t4 flange and slap a pair of escargots on em?

Looks like I will jsut wait till some 5th gen camaro ones come up. Well, some have come up but they want $300 for the exhaust manifolds and the cats, I don't need the cats. What would be a good price to offer?

Hey man if you are using dirty dingos and you want to go long tubes go to http://www.schoenfeldheaders.com/ .Call them before ordering and tell them you have dirty dingo mounts .They built their long tube headers around the dirty dingo mounts and they are a made in usa company. Both Brent at dirty dingo and the folks over at Schoenfeld can confirm this for you. I ended up getting the ebay ones that Brent told me that would fit 73-87 on ebay made in china. 200 for the ebay ones compared to the 400 schoenfelds , not bad tho would like to try those long tubes they make.keep us updated
