door panels for 52 truck

dont like the interior door panels on my 52. they are all warped from the heat. looks like they are plastic. i was thinking of using 1/8" board then vinyl over top of it, when i tried to fit the board up to the door it does not fit flush up on the door. the door opening mechanism holding the board out away from the door. has anyone ever used something else or even the same thing for there panels. any one have pictures of how they did theirs?

used 1/8" black textured abs. went from the window trim down to the floor. Hides a multitude of sins.

I used plastic laminate (formica) and put a vinyl covering on it, it fit into the metal surround that was still intact and fit flush on the door. Mines a '51, don't know about the mechanisms on a '52, interior may be the same.
