Discovery Channel Video: Designing GM Vehicles for Horrific Weather
This is why pickup trucks don't (usually) have hood scoops! Or why the air cleaner is ducted through the fender.
Terry Bishop (the guy in the light blue shirt) is the engineer that helped me do the splash testing when I designed the engine air induction system for the GMT800 line of vehicles. http://www.discovery.ca/video?vid=591431 Sorry about the commercials (two or them); actual video is 4:48 long. K

Re: Discovery Channel Video: Designing GM Vehicles for Horrific Weather
Interesting video. Where I work, we do the shower booth test on every car we build, checking for water leaks. Every vehicle gets driven on the dyno equip, multi-aligning equip, then the shower test for about 2 mins. Then it goes out to the test track for several test. Sure beats working on the assembly line, building the vehicles, which I did for about 20 yrs. My body enjoys the change of pace of vehicle quality inspection.
