Metal Dash
I have been given the task of shaving a buddies dash. He has already completely stripped the foam etc off his current one but I figured I would check here to see if you guys new of a solid metal dash. Im sure someone has made them before, possibly for resale so I figured I would check before I spend a whole lot of time on it.
He wants it to somewhat resemble stock so custom fabbing one is out of the question. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Metal Dash
If you search here for metal dash you will find an aftermarket metal dash seller but it is far from stock - mostly you install aftermarket gauges and it looks somewhat vertical and squared off.
I toyed with the idea of just fabricating sheet metal over the existing dash, but the corners would need special treatment. Probably spray foam over the cracks and fiberglass over the whole thing is the best option, though some posting here have had mixed results - cracks telegraphing through. I think a combination of hardwood plywood with hardwood edging would be interesting - still, the corners are the challenge. |

Re: Metal Dash
The only metal dash that is purchasable for these trucks is made by DIY4x and costs $400 before shipping.
Anything else is fabbed up but if you want to go a different route the 66 dashes look good. |
