I'll be doing this on my swap, turning down and tapping the stock sensor to fit the Passenger side head.

There is no need to drill, tap, glue, weld or any of that stuff for the temp sender, the 98-02 firebird temp sender has three wires, use the third wire for the gauge and yes the ohmage matches, I've done a bunch of these and is a lot simpler

I used the psi harness on mine to.it has the connector that hooks to the sending unit in the head on drivers side.this is the sensor the ecm reads to turn on electric fans and light up the check engine lights. I simply drilled and tapped passenger head and installed another sensor for the dash gauge.

I simply used the autometer coolant gauge sender with adapter. no drilling, no tapping. I remember reading "if you don't want to spend 10 bucks..lol... on the adapter, just tap the allen plug you remove on the passenger head for the sender. Further reading revealed when tightening, modified plug broke and threads were stuck in head.
