coolant issues
So I got to work today and after sitting for 2 minutes I heard a pop coming from the engine bay and then I noticed steam coming from the hood. When I got out to check it out I was leaking quite a bit of coolant from the overflow tube. It has a new thermostat and water pump when I swapped out engines. Any ideas?

Re: coolant issues
If there is no overflow tank on your rig... which is pretty likely... you can't fill the radiator to the top. You need to leave it 2 to 3 inches low when you fill it from cold iron...

Re: coolant issues
The loud pop could have been a bursted hose. If the truck just over heated I don't think you would have heard a pop. Once you refill the radiator leave the cap off so you can see the water/antifreeze circulate once the engine reaches operating temperature. If you don't see any circulation it could be that the thermostat is stuck closed.
