Re: 62 burb maiden towing voyage
Very Cool! Funny how big the Willys looks on the trailer. Makes the Burb look small.

What size are your wheels and tires on the Suburban?
Hot Willys, be worth the shipping fee. |

The tires on them are all Prodigy H/T P235/74R15. All 4 tires are new but one found the sharp point of inner fender bolt when previous owner lowered front end a bit too far. So it has a defined cut all the way around the circumference but does not appear to be deep enough to cause a problem. Needless to say I quickly removed that fender bolt and keep more tension on front torsion bars Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 62 burb maiden towing voyage
I was thinking about using 235/70r15 in the front on 7" rims and 255/70r15 in the back on 8" rims. I like the tire size on your Suburban, it's got me thinking. Thanks.

Re: 62 burb maiden towing voyage
Hey Tom, What rear springs are you running besides the load leveler bags? I love the stance of your 'Burban.

Rear springs a little soft but the leveler bags really ad some ride adjustment. Especially when towing. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 62 burb maiden towing voyage
Tom can you give some details on what you used for load leveling bags. I have a 'burb with a similar static drop and would like to tow.

I went with Performance Online's load leveler product . P/n RAA6072. Just under $300 with shipping. Nice product but in my case I had to modify the upper brackets. They interfered with tire buldge and would not work out of box. I took a picture during install and will try to post here showing the problem. About 3/4 inch off. Solution fairly easy, drill new holes 3/4 inch inboard and trim outboard edge of bracket same amount. Maybe they work fine on a pickup out of box? but no way in the burb without modifying. Easy to do tho. Like the product so far. Good luck. Posted via Mobile Device |

Nice, thanks! Since I have a 62 chassis under my 64 body, will probably have the same clearance problems. Great to know! - Scottie
